In the figures, the parts and their positions are denoted as follows. 1 stands for a frame. 2 stands for a cutting device with a knife body 2a, a knife 2b and a drive device 2c. The knife 2b has one or two cutting edges 2ba. 3 stands for a counter-knife. 4 stands for a chainsaw. Sa and 5b stand for a front twig knife and for a rear twig knife, respectively. 6 stands for a shaft. 7 stands for a feed roll. 8 stands for a carrier roll. 9 stands for a supporting frame. 10 stands for a treatment means with a channel 10a and a syringe opening 10b. The channel 10a comprises a feed channel 10aa and a channel plug 10ab. ll stands for treatment agent.
Figures 1 and 2 show a felling unit with a chain saw 4 and a knife 2b for cutting a tree. The cutting of large and small trees takes place with the chainsaw 4 and with the knife 2b, respectively. The cutting of the tree or trees with the knife 2b takes place in such a way that the knife 2b attached to the knife body 2a supported by the shaft 6 turns towards a counter knife 3 attached to the body 1, the tree or trees remaining between the knife 2b and the counter knife 3 being cut off.
Above, only one solution has been given for cutting a tree with a knife 2b with a cutting edge 2ba. The intention is not to limit the invention only to the above-mentioned cutting construction for the knife or knives. The cutting solution can also be, for example, a guillotine cutting, a saxamic cutting or a cutting construction where the knife is attached to a tree handling grip and the grip of the grip pulls the knife through the tree or trees.
In a tree handling gripper or a felling unit, one or two of them with a cutting edge 2ba have knives 2b provided for cutting a tree. It has now been found that the knife 2b provided with the cutting edge 2ba has one or more treatment means 10 for spreading pesticides on the stump of the tree.
Figures 3-5 show that the treatment means 10 consists of one or more channels 10a in the knife 2b. In the treatment means 10 there is one or two feed channels 10aa, wherein the pesticide can be transferred via the feed channel 10aa to the channel 10a from which the pesticide during cutting of a tree is sprayed against the tree stump through spray openings 10b under the knife 2b. The syringe openings 10b are located in the vicinity of the cutting edge 2ba of the knife 2b, for example at a distance of 20 - 60 mm from the cutting edge 2ba.
The syringe openings 10b located in the vicinity of the cutting edge 2ba ensure that the entire stump is treated during the cutting. The syringe openings 10b may have a different shape than the round shape shown in the figures, the shape may be, for example, an oval, square, rectangle or long slit. A long gap gives a fan-shaped jet of pesticides.
According to a construction solution, the shaft 6 of the cutting device 2 and the knife body 2a omfatt comprise destructive means via which the pesticide can be transferred to the knife 2b.
The above-mentioned construction can, with the aid of boreholes and various kinds of grooves, offer passage to the pesticide all the way to the spray openings 10b.
According to a design solution, the treatment means 10 consists of one or more syringe openings 10b in the knife 2b. The above-mentioned construction is possible if the pesticide is led to the spray openings 10b of the knife 2b by means of separate pipes or hoses.
The inventive stump treatment device for a tree handling gripper or a trapping unit and the associated technology can preferably be made of known metals by known methods and with known machines. The pesticide pumping at the stump treatment device can be carried out with the technique known from the pesticide pumping at chain saws.
One skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the alternatives described above, but it is possible to make many changes within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
